In my opinion, Christmas is truly the most wonderful time of the year. I love the music, lights, trees, ornaments, candy canes, and even the ugly sweaters. It’s challenging to not get caught up in the hustle and bustle of the holiday season so I am trying to focus on the real reason for the season.
Here is a collection of Bible verses to lead us up to Christmas. Screenshot them, write them down, try memorizing them, or read the whole passage in your Bible. There is one for every day from December 1 to December 25.

December 18 – “Then the shepherds went back to their sheep, praising God and thanking Him for everything that they had seen and heard.” Luke 2:20
December 19 – “After Jesus was born, some wise men came from the east.” Matthew 2:1

December 25 – “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift!” 2 Corinthians 9:15
Wow – so much joy is proclaimed in those 25 verses. Many people wonder what the importance of Christmas is; For me, my journey to finding the significance of this holiday begins with traveling back in time to over 2,000 years ago. The people had heard from the prophesies about a Savior but were probably really concerned about life after death. When Jesus was born, they truly had hope that these prophesies would be coming true. When I put myself in the shoes of the people of this time, that would be a huge relief and a reason to celebrate.
Jesus came not only to save us, but to build a relationship with us and to go through the struggles that we face. God took a step out of eternity to come to Earth because He loved us and wanted to know us better.
This Christmas season, focus on what matters and think about what great lengths God went through to get to know us. Think about Jesus and remember His human side. Think about how Jesus can actually relate to us personally. This month, I challenge you to dig deeper in your relationship with Christ by using these Bible verses and truly appreciate Christmas.
