Chasing the Creator of Sunsets

I had really been wanting to take a picture of wheat with the sunset before harvest began, but it seemed like every night that I had time to do it, it was either raining or it was cloudy. It was getting to be around 8:20 one night and the clouds were really starting to look neat but the sun wasn’t very bright. I decided that I would drive to one of our wheat fields and wait out the sunset in case it was photo worthy. It turned out that it got cloudy again, and that night wasn’t the sunset I wanted.

Even though those pictures didn’t turn out like they did in my head, I was still full of bliss watching that wheat and the sun go down. Every night, God gets to paint a sky and give us a beautiful sunset. Not one sunset or sunrise is alike and that is because our Creator wants us to see His light on this world. It may seem like everything is out of sorts, but our God promises that even though there will be trials and tribulations, that following Him and His light will be worth it. And that even though, bad things are happening, He can create a sunset that cannot be described on this Earth because he loves us all more than we will ever know.

Instead of waiting around for that perfect sunset, or the things we desire in life, it is important to chase after them. And while we are on the chase for our dreams, we need to most importantly chase after Him. Instead of praying just when we feel like it or going to church on holidays, we must desire a relationship with Him so we can see that light and the beauty in everything. I continuously chase after that sunset and the painting in the sky and look up to thank Him.

"From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised." -Psalm 113:3
